The "Centro de Estudios Diaz-Bastien & Truan" (Diaz-Bastien & Truan Research Centre) was established as a non-profit association for research, study, and cooperation in matters relating to the legal and judicial world. It was conceived with the aim of promoting the research, study and disclosure of law related subjects, as well as the development of relations with other national and international associations of a similar nature.
In order to achieve these goals the following activities are undertaken:
- Research and legislative improvement projects.
- Creation of legal education programmes targeting the general public.
- Development of research programmes aimed at legal professionals.
- Promotion of research in legal sciences.
- Promotion and development of legal studies through publications, exhibitions, conferences and symposia.
- Participation in postgraduate specialisation courses and in university programmes to develop legal matters.
- Organisation of conferences, seminars and similar activities for the dissemination of knowledge and research experience.
- Development of national and international projects for improvement, reform and drafting of legislative and judicial projects, as well as other general projects relating to the field of law.
- Cooperation in the creation of courts for arbitration, mediation or alternative dispute resolution.
- Advisory services and collaboration with organisations, companies and agencies on a national and international level.
- Establishment of scholarships in related areas.
